Fast bowler Gus Atkinson Adds to England's Injury Concerns.

'Major setback' for the touring side as Atkinson is forced off with a hamstring injury.

The English seamer further complicated the injury concerns plaguing England after leaving the ground early on day two of the fourth Ashes Test in the Ashes series.

The right-arm seamer felt a problem in his hamstring post-delivery in his spell on Saturday.

The touring camp stated Atkinson had experienced "tightness" and would spend time off the field for further assessment "during the day".

The series decider of the tour at the SCG starts this coming Sunday.

The visitors have already lost strike bowlers Mark Wood to a knee injury and Jofra Archer to a side strain during this series.

Matthew Fisher was added to the party as injury reinforcement.

Atkinson struggled early in the series, claiming a mere three wickets.

He was dropped of the third Test, only to be brought back for the Boxing Day match as Archer's replacement.

Atkinson showed better form in Melbourne, claiming a couple of wickets during the host's first knock, before adding 28 with the bat among just a trio of teammates to reach double figures.

Following a brief spell in Australia's second innings, he resumed the next day and removed Scott Boland taken by the wicketkeeper.

However, on the final ball of his spell, he bowled a change of pace to Travis Head and immediately felt at his leg.

Gus Atkinson returned to the side for the fourth Ashes Test after being left out of the third.
