Former Doctor Charged with Assault Charges Against 38 Patients

Legal authorities report that a former physician now faces charges for performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
